This Saturday La Casa dei Bambini will have a booth at the annual Hootenanny on the Hill event in Plum Creek. This event provides free family fun-games, bouncy houses, train rides, etc.-as well as food vendors and live music. If you have any questions about the school, this is a great opportunity for you to meet and talk to the director. And current and former parents, please stop by and hang out with us for a while!

The event is held in the area around the neighborhood bucket pool. The address is 450 Haupt and parking is located along the streets. The event runs from 10-2.

Thanks to such a great turn-out and wonderful planning (yes, we’re talking about you, Michelle!), our fall family work day was a great success. Gardens were weeded, stones were uncovered, flowers were planted, and bushes were de-wasped–if that’s even a word! And, let’s not forget the amazing stone washing that our youngest children did for the school.

We are so happy that many of our former La Casa families stopped by to visit. It’s always wonderful to have our current and old families meet and mingle. In fact, a mother of two of our former students texted this message after helping out at the workday:

Cheers to another successful Family Work Day! Always a gift to stay connected to the school that gave our family the extended family we have in you all. Chris & I attribute so much of what & who we have in our lives to the La Casa community.

We had former students who now attend Negley Elementary, Austin Montessori, and Santa Cruz visit. A 7th grader from one of our very first graduating classes even choose to fulfill his middle school volunteer hours helping us beautify the school.

We want to remind everyone that although the school looks amazing, the most important aspect of work day is that our community came together and shared food, conversation, and fun. Plus, we love seeing parents get to know each other and meet the children of our school.
